Quick Reads: Announcement of 2020 Dvořák Prague Festival Programme Postponed

Although the 2020 Dvořák Prague festival programme has been completed, due to the COVID-19 situation we are forced to postpone its public announcement. This unfortunate situation includes a delay in the start of ticket sales.

The official programme for the 2020 Dvořák Prague Festival is complete and was to be announced on March 24th in conjunction with the start of ticket sales. On March 12th, due to the current health crisis and state of emergency, the Academy of Classical Music decided to postpone the announcement. Director Robert Kolář gave the following statement in his press release: „As much as this delay is very unfortunate and makes the preparation of the festival more complicated, under the circumstances, it would feel wrong to proceed with social events, however small. Currently, many of our fellow-citizens are facing illness or are worried about it. We are sure that our country will manage to cope at this difficult time and that we will soon be able to get back to our work and announce the completed festival programme. I join you in looking forward to happier times.“
